Aeration
What is Aeration
Water aeration mixes the water minimizing anaerobic zones in bottom water and bottom sediment surface. Surface Aeration stimulates the conversion of potentially toxic ammonia or toxic nitrate and non-toxic nitrate. Fish as well as other aquatic species require oxygen, Water Aeration helps provide this necessity. Water Aerators are ideal for Aquaculture and Waste Water applications.
A major contributor to poor water quality is a decrease in levels of dissolved oxygen (DO). Aerobic bacteria help to decompose organic matter which helps increase levels of DO, and aerobic bacteria can realize a boost from aeration as well.
Benefits of Aeration
Having an effective Surface Water Aeration system is an essential part of a balanced aquatic ecosystem. Bodies of water can be easily disrupted by natural occurrences or storm water. A good Water Aerator can offset potential damage and reduce water quality issues.
- Water Aerators will improve your water quality
- Water Aerators can reduce nutrient loads that cause the growth of algae and weeds
- Water Aerators will create a better fish habitat and attract birds, ducks, and other desirable wildlife with little to no bottom turbulence.
- Water Aerators can help maintain pH levels in your aquatic ecosystem
- Water Aerators will reduce the accumulation of sediment at the bottom of your lake or pond
- Water Aerators can prevent stagnation and discourage insects such as mosquito activity and reproduction
Methods of Aeration
Water Aeration is creating the water to flow from the bottom of the body of the water to above the surface to degas and add oxygen. Surface Aerators pull the water through the bottom of the shroud and four additional holes, the propeller mixes and forces the water above the surface through our patented unique Aeration design. This high pumping of the Surface Aerator degasses the water of nitrogen, carbon dioxide and hydrogen sulfide while raising dissolved oxygen levels. Surface Aerators circulates the water with little to no bottom turbulence.
Aeration – Degassing gets rid of nutrients that cause algae and weeds, that results in clearer water and decreased odor. Water Aeration also mixes the water, minimizing anaerobic zones in bottom water and bottom sediment surface. Surface Aeration stimulates the conversion of potentially toxic ammonia to toxic nitrate and finally non–toxic nitrate. Our Surface Aerators are salt water compatible.
