Ice Eaters should be stored upside down (Yes, propeller on the bottom).
Pro-Tip: While you have your Ice Eater out of the water, give the whole unit a good inspection. Look over the propeller for wear or damages. Check the zinc anode for erosion (You need a replacement when it’s about half its original size). Clean your unit to get rid of gunk build-up be sure to clean the can, using a degreaser will help immensely.
Our products use “Synthetic Dielectric Lubricating Fluid”, an innovative electrical insulating fluid technology that won’t harm any aquatic life, should it get into your water source. Oil spills can be serious and cause damage to fish, animals, and plants. Bearon Aquatics has located a food-grade biodegradable fluid that is non-toxic, and it will evaporate in approximately 30 days should it leak.
Ice Eaters come with a 3 year warranty from the date of manufacture for freshwater use. If a unit is used for purposes other than de-icing, such as Saltwater use, Flupsys, Shellfish, Oyster farming, etc., then a one year limited warranty shall apply.
Each unit runs on less than 10 amps at 115 volts. The exact application determines use and your energy’s charge, when you are running it and how long you run it also contributes to energy company’s charges.
